Salvo.

When we started discussing the project, Hamish Peddie, founder of Salvo, expressed his fondness towards the song Vienna by Billy Joel, and that is how our inspiration and concept for the new Salvo store came to be. "Slow down you're doing fine. You can't be everything you want to be before your time." - This specific line in the song personifies the city (Vienna) as a metaphor for life and taking everything just a bit slower. It can be overwhelming for a place like Hong Kong, and I believe this song resonates with Hong Kong and Salvo.

In a city that hustles and bustles, the neighborhood where the new Salvo is situated, Starstreet Precinct gives off a calmer and slow-paced vibe. There's no worry about time in this neighborhood, and its environment allows people to relax and be present. There's a community in Starstreet that evokes togetherness, a feeling of being at ease where time does not exist for a moment.

While slowing down does not necessarily only indicate time. In designing the new Salvo store, Wabi-Sabi came to mind, a Japanese aesthetic that centers on the acceptance of transience and imperfection - The use of limewash paint on walls, the pops of color in certain areas, and the reuse of bamboo on the ceiling as a feature element.

I believe there is beauty in simplicity and in making the most of what you have.
